I just turned 40 earlier this week and surprisingly, I didn’t freak out about it. I do sometimes sit back and marvel at how quickly it has flown by. Then I get a little panicky about how there is so much more I want to do, see, and experience. The brevity of life has really been at the forefront of my mind lately for obvious reasons.
Two years ago, I made a 40 by 40 list (see it here) where I listed 40 goals I had back then at the young age of 38. These goals were to be accomplished by my 40th birthday and looking back I roughly completed about 35% of the original 40 goals. Not the greatest percentage, but as I went through the list on my last birthday, I realized that I’d changed, meaning many of my goals had also changed and some of the things that were important to me back then, no longer held any value. But I see the benefits of setting goals and so here is a brand new list for a brand new year.
The following are 41 goals I want to accomplish by the time I turn 41 on September 5, 2018. Some are big, some are small, some are easier than others, and some are carry overs from the previous list.
